Candace raced on the weekend as part of The King Of Kings MTB race held at Kings School in Nth Parramatta.  This is an annual event which brings together current students from a wide range of schools, former students and the general MTB community together to race on this normally private track.  Candace competed in the Under 19’s Woman’s category and finished in 1st place.

The race is over a 2 hour period which riders get to tackle to technical terrain of the purpose built Kings MTB school course.  The distance is around 4km per lap with around 80m of climbing per lap.  This can take the fast riders around 10 minutes.  Candace was lapping in 19 – 21 minutes per lap and completed on a total of 5 laps 1 lap ahead of the next rider.  This is the first time she has tackled a 2hr format for racing.

As part of the JetBlack MTB team Candace has raced all over NSW and ACT this year in Junior Mixed Pairs finishing in 1st place for the Rockytrail Series.  The JetBlack team really encourages Juniors and woman to take the step into racing in a controlled team atmosphere.  It is great to watch our large group of juniors growing in their racing but also the skills and confidence.
